It was a simple matter to clean them up, hone out the slave cylinder, and replace the brake shoes.
Fortunately, I was pulling into a parking lot when it happened and was able to remove it before proceeding.
Replacement was straightforward and uneventful after obtaining the part on-line.

Engine/transmission pulled & prepped for overhaul.
Can't decide to restore with wooden floorboards or weld in steel floors. Leaning toward steel.
