Been working on my GT6 since the day I bought it back in 95. The PO I saved it from claimed it was 'paint ready'-we've all heard that in one form another! Lots of rust, bondo, and rust. Did I mention rust?
Looking back I'm positive it served time as a submarine.
I drove it for 2 years while it rusted further and I collected funds to buy needed body panels.
Back then I purchased floors, rockers, and a battery tray, but never got much chance to actually work on it until 2009 or so.
In 2021 I finally shot paint, and re-liscensed in October for the first time since 97.
Work progresses, but it's legal now

Electrical Woes
Posted on: Thursday April 25, 2024
After the I got the new clutch in the celebration was short lived. I was having issues with the alternator charging, as well as something suddenly was blowing the green circuit fuse the moment I turned the key (brakes, turn signals, temp and fuel gauges). First off I needed to figure out why the alternator wasn't charging the battery. It's relatively new. At first I doubted the generator to alternator conversion. It had an alternator with an external regulator on it when I bought it, but I...
Clutch Woes Continued...or Is That Whoa's!!!!

I got the clutch last fall but didn't get a chance to change it before the weather turned cold and snowy. Plus I was trying to make up my mind as to whether I wanted to pull the transmission through the cabin or pull the engine. Space is a premium, especially if its a job that strings out over a few days or weeks, so in the end I opted to pull it through the cabin. Anyway, I got the clutch replaced, new pilot bushing, rear main seal and gasket, clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing....
Ballad Of The Clutch

Naturally hind sight says I should have just changed it anyway before or just after I dropped the engine/transmission back on the rolling chassis 8 years ago, but I never separated them in all those years…. Anyway, Since last summer the clutch has been slipping, I guess that what it is. It just hasn’t had the jump off the line, and getting up to speed from zero has been slow, and getting worse. I’ve only had one clutch go out on me before, and it felt differently than this (95...

OKay, no particular pictures for this round of work, but links to pictures on old attempted journals. It's been a long road, and I mostly restarted at one point. RIght here are some past bits of work. Edit:If there are no pictures I appologize. Photobucket is lousy these days. Ransomware at best. Some day I may get around to finding the correct pics and making it right. The start...mostly. The camera I had at the time was lousy at...
