WOW! Glad to make your acquaintance. We purchased the car last summer at theKansas City All British Car & Cycle Meet from a gentleman named Randy Cohn. He told me his father purchased it from you on May 16th, 1995, and that his father passed away in 1999. He registered it with the North American MGB Registry under the same registration number that was his father's. It may have been 'unused' for some time and the son restored it and began taking it to local car shows. He won 1st in Class in the 2010 Kansas City All British Car & Cycle Meet; 1st in Class 2011 Kansas City All British Car & Cycle Meet1st Place 2012 MG Heartland Regional; Best in Class 2012 Kansas City All British Car & Cycle Meet; and 1st in Class 2013 MG Heartland Regional. My wife & I love driving the car and have taken a few short trips around NE Kansas since owning it. The car was/is in excellent condition, but I overhauled the rear brakes, fixed a minor oil leak around the valve cover, and installed a new muffler. Other than routine mai

I bought that car after hearing that the MG marque was being discontinued. I specially wanted British Racing Green. I had the convertible top replaced under warranty because the plastic windows were fogged up when I got it. I bought it when I lived near Chicago, but the car never saw the snow. It was always stored for the winter. Note that I had it Ziebarted to prevent any rust. We moved to Florida in 1988 where I was able to use it year round. Everything was original when I sold it except for the carpet on the rear shelf which was damaged by battery acid. I passed along all service records. I sold it in 1995 with 22,000 miles to Randy's father who was looking for something to keep him busy because he had just lost his wife. I had lost my job and I knew I would have to relocate out of Florida. I often wish I still had the car.

The Ziebart treatment appears to have worked. If there is - or ever has been - any rust on it I've not seen it. I rolled over 40,000 miles on the trip to the waterfalls last week. The car now has an electronic ignition. I think Randy said he had it installed. It runs good, but I've noticed an occasional 'miss' when cruising at 70 MPH (3500 RPM).If you want it back make me an offer I can't refuse. :-)

From the photos I noticed that the car now has a luggage rack. That is not original but was a very common option. Interestingly, while waxing the car (I only used Blue Coral), I noticed that the boot lid had been repainted before I purchased it. If you look under the finger grip on the lock, there is some overspray where the masking tape missed some of the chrome. I suspected that that paint job may have been the cause of the fogged windows on the convertible top that was replaced under warranty.

Yep! Still a trace of green right there where you said it would be.
