I have a 1999 Tracker 4x4 automatic. I;ve had the car for a couple months with no problems. Yesterday I went to move it and the back brakes were locked up.. When I put the car in drive the back wheels didn't move. When I pulled on the e-brake handle it would only lift, less than an inch. I jacked up the car and put it on jack stands. Neither wheel would turn. I opened the bleeder valves, only a small amount of fluid came out and it made no difference as far as the wheels being unlocked. I checked the brake fluid and it's full. The e-brake wasn't on overnight and I drove the car with no problems when I parked it. Normally the e-brake handle lifts 6 inches or so. That's the only difference I can see. Is it possible there is a problem with the proportioning valve being stuck? Thank you for any information.

I have the same problem. I had to have it towed three times, they realigned the brake pads, and removed the handbrake. I just went to a new mechanic, and they don't seem to have a solution; they just realign the pads. Sorry if the English isn't correct; I'm writing from Mexico.
