Greetings,
New member with a 1988 Samurai JX .
We live in the Pacific N.W. just North of Seattle.
We primarily use our Sammy as our Toad behind our Motorhome and as our expedition vehicle .
We were looking for one for a couple years . The reason we focused on the Samurai was it's light weight and off road capability . Plus , parts are readily available and reasonably priced .
Our MH has a tow limit of 3500lbs , so the Sammy gives us a good measure of safety as well as being light enough to not impact the performance or mpg of the MH.
We were on a trip from Seattle to Dallas when we found it outside Fort Worth. During the trip , while the wife was driving I was surfing Craigslist for the areas we were driving through . It was an original Southern California car then bought and moved to Texas . No rust !
The Texas owner used it as their Toad , so it came set up for towing with towbar and all the hardware included.
The previous owner did some novice rock climbing . So he kept the original gearing , so it is highway capable . He did do the SPOA for more ground clearance and stayed on top of it's maintenance .
We've been extremely happy with the little 4x4
and look forward to many more years of adventure.
