Not to sound trite, David, but you got to fight through that sh*t. I will say that I shared those same concerns early on in my restoration, especially with the bodywork. I've been keeping up with your work and nothing I've seen has been irreparable. It may not be how you want it, but you can always go back and do it again, maybe after notching a few successes. I specifically remember at least three total reworks that I did which involved cutting out more metal that I had originally replaced. You'll get better, but only with practice. Beast is better...where there was once nothing but rusted, ragged metal and air, there is now solid metal.

I'm also not in a good "place" mentally in general, and the distraction of this hobby isn't helping; it's hurting. Thanks for the support.

Yah think I know what you mean. I find it hard to pull the trigger on some tasks and I think its because im afraid its not going to turn out. I just remind myself that the car wasnt drivable and if I can get it back on the road the little things wont be a big deal. Im not building a show car. Look at the stuff that you have done that works and feel the sense of accomplishment.

Looking back at this (assuming you can see this), I am in a much better place now. I still sometimes have the fear of screwing things up but have a better attitude about things. I've made progress (see YouTube) and someone pointed out that the car has a lot less rust now than it did when I got it! Even the wife had to agree with that.

You're doing ok, you're saving The Beast. It's better to do something than to let the car rot away. You've got a lot going for you, and there will always be people inspired by what you've done so far. I watch all the GT6 videos on youtube, and am always itching for you or Elin or Jade Mutley to upload something! I wish I had the garage, tools and time to do all the things you all (Thaniel, Chris, Elin, Jade, You etc) have achieved.

Hell, I even started looking for GT6 models because I saw the one you put together!

You've been doing great work David. Your videos have been a huge help in doing the mirror image work on my Mk1! Motivation i always a big hurdle to get over (and keep getting over). I started on the passenger side floorboard a year ago this month and the biggest thing was just motivating myself to go out and work on it. I'm pretty sure there was a month or so that i didn't touch it... Even just going out and fiddling for 15 or 20 minutes to clean something or prep for the next step makes a huge difference! Keep it up!
