Well it all started when I was about 15 and we had all kinds of MGs in Tucson where I grew up. I always wanted one but my folks made me drive my sister's old Gremlin instead....Fast forward about 22 years and here I am working 60+ hours a week going crazy....Doctor says I need to get a hobby and do something besides work. Well I hooked up with this website and really got the bug. A few years ago I bought my 1980 from TxDave solely on his reputation and what folks here I respect said about him. Through the help of guys like TxDave, JDW, Tom B, Wray, Gerry, John M, etc...a small sample of some of the things i have done follows:
Changed my exhaust/Cat - Nasty job
Redone front and rear suspension, shocks, calipers, bearings, etc.
Installed oil cooler
New puller Fan
Re-cord Radiator
New Weber 32/36 - Out with ZS
Fixed Heater valve clogging problem
New Front Motor Mounts
New Crossmeber pads
New windshield and seals - Tough job
etc.etc.etc
My biggest thrill is when I can actually give someone advice on this BBS because I actually DID it myself. MY dream is to someday buy an old MKI car and build the Ultimate Arizona MG.
