Norm's '74 B Restoration Journal
Well, Now that the '77 is on the road and pretty well sorted, work on my '74 resumes.
Work to date:
Stripping car of interior, glass, gas tank, etc. Engine, tranny, and axles remain.
Remove and Replace (R&R) Floorboards
R&R Trunk Pan
R&R left side outer rocker and inner sill membrane
R&R right side outer rocker and inner sill membrane
R&R Right side dogleg
Plug up speaker holes in rear bulkhead
Miscelaneous welding / prep.
So far, all work has been completed with the car on the ground, supported at the axles, and with the engine, tranny, and axles in the car. Bracing has been welded in to provide support when the sills were removed and replaced.
Remaining tasks: R&R rear left quarter panel, repair outer wheel well, build rotesserie, repair battery boxes, then sandblast, prime, and paint the car. Then I'll recondition or replace all of the other parts, and re-install them into the car. Still lot's of work to go but progress is slowly being made!
