Removed seats, console, carpeting. Exposed the efforts of a previous owner with floor pans beaten out of a chunk of galvanized metal and screwed in various places.
Went on with dash removal which went rather well considering. About a 5 on the 240 Volvo Heater fan replacement scale, which is not too bad, at least I was comfortable.
Electrical is a bloody mess, many wires melted together and one branch of the original wiring harness having been clipped off. Former owner along the line has installed electric window motors, bodging the interior side of doors badly and various wires kludged into the system. Likely these wires that caused the melt down, with no grommets in evidence and bare wires exposed.
Windshield frame has been removed as well, only glitch being the adjusting rod nuts being seized under the cowling. Soaked the captured nuts with do-it fluid, I'll try them tomorrow.

About 4 years ago, my brother spotted an ad for 2 MGBs in the paper for a ridiculously low price, so of course Off We Went! Luckily(?!) we were the first responders to the ad, so were able to negotiate the purchase of both MGBs, one a 1973 which my brother quickly laid claim to, and the other a 1974 1/2 which I took.
My brother, with more time on his hands than I and no wife/kids to otherwise distract, immediately got to work and after 2 winters or so, ended up with a really nice example of the marque.
I, on the other hand, did little to mine other than to admire it in the corner of my barn whenever I chanced to look at it.
Finally though, the gloves have been put on, and parts are now being strewn on my shop floor.
