Crank in and torqued

Well all, I have been missing in action for better than a year now after looking at my last journal entry of April 2019! Lots of stuff going on and just could not get going on the project! However, this past weekend I pulled out all the parts for the C engine from the various corners of the garage and laid them all out, Did a re-clean on the block and bores and rinsed off all the storage oil I slathered all over the machined surfaces and put the newly balanced crank into the block. Used...

This is the spacers and Grade 8 Shaft Crazy greas

Well - I have been pecking away at small stuff due to other projects...I am going to be pulled away from the MGC for a bit as I am bound and determined to get paint on the 72 MGB this summer. So I pulled out all the body panels and am now feverishly priming & sanding, priming and sanding, repeat! But the good part about that is when I am waiting for stuff to dry I can work on small part refurbishment for the C! I finished my pedal box modification... To recap I am building a brake system...

It seems softer than the factory stuff but much smoother than the original stuff. All my leaf springs parts have been painted with POR15 so have a very smooth surface for them to slide on. Hopefully this will make the springs more compliant and above all nice and quiet. May have to look at tube shocks as opposed to...

Rear axle pretty much assembled at this point

OK...so I have been slowly working away on stuff - being distracted by all kinds of stuff! Engine - apparently rotating assembly is now all balanced and ready for pick up - we had sent the clutch pressure plate and disc out for rebuild rather than buy a new "offshore" piece of equipment - price was about the same - $245 Canadian to rebuild it. Pressure plate and disc balanced separately from the crank/lightened flywheel. Head is done - new guides, new seats, new valves, .020" planed off - so...
