Doug, she talked them into it. She did say no to me getting in there with them. What a great day, free ice cream and hot dogs to all show participants. We left stuffed.Wayne.

Beautiful car, Wayne. I owned a 1948 Triumph Roadster 1800, black with light tan sort-top, in 1960. I loved driving it along our country roads with that vast bonnet pointing out in front. Sadly, I sold it in 1961 for just 165 and regretted it ever since. Amazingly, a year after I sold it I found it abandoned on the A41 near Watford, north of London. It had been vandalized. I took a photo of it and still that picture, along with one I took on the day that it was sold. Since then I owned a 1964 Triumph Herald convertible for 2 years, 1964 to 1966, and later bought a 1968 Triumph Vitesse 2-litre convertible in 1980. I still have the Vitesse, along with a 1967 Herald 1200 convertible. But I wish I still had a Roadster, such a magnificent British design.

Thank you Peter. I too loved mine on the English country roads. That one was TMX 214, but could only bring one back and at the time choose the '37 MG TA.It was our daily driver for years, kids to school and shopping. Got this Roadster in '73 with the help from by mother in law and of course, Bert Harold , one of the first members of The Roadster Club. Great guy, sure helped get it over here. Glad you are still enjoying Triumphs, looked at a Vitesse a while back, nothing left from the seals down, so I passed. Thanks for looking.Wayne

Keith, Thanks and we are so lucky to have these cars. Great touring car, just hate everything is so inter state highway to get places now. Wish they had kept the 4 speed in the 2000, mine is 50 MPH all day but lets me know when I get over 55, groans a bit. LOLWayne

Thanks Wayne. My 1948 Roadster 1800 was FGG225. I still find it hard to believe that whoever I had sold it to in 1961, could have allowed it to be abandoned and vandalized. I wonder if it has survived to be restored?
