Choke cable very difficult to pull out. Replaced jet seals with greased o-rings. Adjusted linkages. Cable moves freely when not connected to linkage. Connecting rod adjusted so jets move equally.
Note that choke knob and cable move with little resistance (in other words, what I'd expect to be "normal"
when the two lever return springs are disconnected.

Choke knob when jet levers are fully pulled back. Can only be done "easily" when return springs are disconnected.
TR3 "Hints for Maintenance", p35; connecting rod forks appear to be fully on engine side of lever at rear carb, but "around" lever at front carb.
