Removed starter due to grinding noise.
Found broken off bearing housing, clean electrics, and clean ring gear.

Broken housing; small piece was inside ring gear housing.
Electrics look clean and recently refurbished.
Ring gear looks clean. Recently replaced?
Ring gear - slightly closer.

gear shaft rotates and slides easily but there are two of these welds.
